By creating an account, ticking the agreement checkbox or using SakinahConnect, you confirm that you have read, understood and agreed to these Terms and our Privacy Policy.
If you do not agree with these Terms, you must not register or use the service.

3. Nature of the Service
SakinahConnect provides tools that allow members to create matrimonial profiles, search for other members and communicate where such features are available.
SakinahConnect:
- Does not guarantee that you will find or marry a spouse
- Does not guarantee the compatibility, intentions, identity or conduct of any member
- Is not a marriage broker, guardian, religious authority or legal adviser
- Is not a party to any marriage proposal, engagement, marriage contract or personal arrangement between members
- Does not conduct background, criminal, medical or financial checks unless expressly stated
Any profile verification provided by SakinahConnect is limited and must not be treated as a guarantee of a member’s character, identity or suitability.
4. Eligibility
You may register only if:
- You are at least 18 years old
- You are legally capable of entering into a binding agreement
- You are genuinely seeking a lawful marriage
- Your use of the platform is permitted by the laws applicable to you
- You have not previously been permanently removed from SakinahConnect for fraud, harassment, abuse or serious misconduct
You must accurately disclose your current marital status. A person who is already married must not conceal that fact and must ensure that any intended marriage complies with applicable law.
SakinahConnect may request reasonable evidence of age, identity or marital status. Failure to provide requested information may result in restriction, suspension or closure of the account.
5. Account Registration and Security
You must provide complete, current and truthful information during registration and while using the service.
You are responsible for:
- Keeping your password confidential
- All activity carried out through your account
- Updating information when circumstances change
- Immediately notifying us of suspected unauthorised access
- Logging out when using a shared or public device
You may not create an account for another person without lawful authority or impersonate any individual or organisation.
Each person may maintain only one active account unless SakinahConnect gives written permission otherwise.
6. Profile Information
Your profile must truthfully represent you and your intentions.
You must not:
- Use another person’s name, photograph or personal information
- Provide a false age, gender, location, occupation or marital status
- Conceal information that would materially mislead a prospective spouse
- Upload heavily altered or misleading photographs
- Include unlawful, offensive or sexually explicit content
- Place phone numbers, email addresses, social-media usernames or external links in public profile fields unless the platform expressly permits it
SakinahConnect may edit, hide or remove profile content that violates these Terms, threatens safety or interferes with the proper operation of the service.
7. Member Conduct
Members must communicate respectfully and use SakinahConnect solely for genuine matrimonial purposes.
You agree not to:
- Harass, threaten, insult, pressure or intimidate another person
- Send sexually explicit messages, images or requests
- Use the service for casual dating, prostitution or unlawful relationships
- Request or send money as a condition of affection, marriage or continued communication
- Commit fraud, blackmail, extortion or identity theft
- Promote hatred, violence, discrimination or unlawful activity
- Collect or publish another member’s information without permission
- Record audio or video conversations without lawful consent
- Send spam, commercial advertisements or mass messages
- Use automated systems, bots, scraping tools or fake accounts
- Introduce malicious code or attempt to compromise website security
- Circumvent a block, suspension or permanent account ban
- Encourage another person to violate these Terms
Disagreement or rejection does not justify harassment. If another member asks you to stop communicating, you must respect that request.
8. Islamic and Matrimonial Values
SakinahConnect is designed to support a respectful Muslim matrimonial process.
Members are encouraged to:
- Maintain honesty and proper conduct
- Involve family members, guardians or trusted elders at an appropriate stage
- Avoid secretive or inappropriate communication
- Discuss religious practice, family expectations and marriage intentions truthfully
- Complete all religious and legal requirements before treating a relationship as a marriage
Use of SakinahConnect does not itself create an engagement, marriage or religiously recognised relationship.
9. Safety When Meeting or Communicating
You are responsible for exercising reasonable caution when interacting with other members.
For your safety:
- Do not send money or financial credentials to another member
- Do not share passwords, identification documents or confidential financial information
- Verify important claims independently

- Report suspicious or abusive behaviour to SakinahConnect
In an emergency or where criminal conduct is suspected, contact the appropriate police or emergency authority.
10. Communications Between Members
Messages, calls or other communications made through SakinahConnect must comply with these Terms.
Where reasonably necessary for safety, complaint investigation or system security, SakinahConnect may review reported communications or associated technical records in accordance with the Privacy Policy and applicable law.
Members must not copy, publish or distribute private communications without lawful authority or the consent of the other participant, except where disclosure is reasonably necessary to report abuse, protect safety or comply with the law.
11. Member Content
“Member Content” includes profile text, photographs and other information you submit to SakinahConnect.
You retain ownership of your Member Content. By uploading it, you grant SakinahConnect a limited, non-exclusive and royalty-free permission to store, reproduce, display and moderate that content solely as necessary to operate and protect the service.
You confirm that:
- You own the content or have permission to use it
- The content is accurate and lawful
- It does not violate another person’s privacy, copyright or other rights
- Its publication does not expose another person to harm
This permission ends when the content or account is deleted, except where temporary retention is required for backups, legal compliance, dispute resolution, fraud prevention or safety investigations.
12. Reporting and Moderation
Members may report profiles or conduct they reasonably believe violates these Terms.
SakinahConnect may investigate reports and take action including:
- Issuing a warning
- Removing content
- Restricting communication features
- Requiring additional verification
- Temporarily suspending an account
- Permanently terminating an account
- Preserving relevant records
- Referring serious matters to lawful authorities
Submitting a knowingly false or malicious report is itself a violation of these Terms.
SakinahConnect will make reasonable moderation decisions but is not required to disclose confidential information about another member or the full details of an investigation.
13. Paid Services and Payments
Some SakinahConnect features may be free, while others may require payment or a subscription.
Before purchasing a paid service, the member will be shown the applicable price, duration and essential service information.
Payments may be processed by independent payment providers. SakinahConnect may receive transaction information but may not receive or store complete bank-card or mobile-money credentials.
Where you request immediate access to a paid digital service, you consent to the service beginning immediately after successful payment.
Refunds and cancellations will be handled according to:
- The information displayed before purchase
- Any Refund Policy published on the website
- The rules of the relevant payment provider
- Applicable Tanzanian law
Account suspension for misconduct does not automatically create a right to a refund, except where the law requires otherwise.
14. Privacy and Personal Data
Use of SakinahConnect is also governed by our Privacy Policy.
By registering, you acknowledge that matrimonial profiles may contain personal and sensitive information, including information relating to religious practice and marital circumstances.
You must not collect, copy, sell, publish or misuse another member’s personal information.
Consent to the processing of personal data may be withdrawn as explained in the Privacy Policy. Withdrawal may make it impossible for SakinahConnect to continue providing some or all services.
15. Intellectual Property
The SakinahConnect name, logo, website design, software, text and other original platform materials are owned by or licensed to SakinahConnect.
You may not copy, modify, sell, reproduce or commercially exploit these materials without prior written permission.
This section does not transfer ownership of Member Content to SakinahConnect.
16. Suspension and Termination
You may stop using SakinahConnect or request closure of your account at any time.
SakinahConnect may restrict, suspend or terminate an account where there are reasonable grounds to believe that:
- These Terms have been violated
- Information supplied is false or misleading
- The account creates a risk to another member
- Fraud, harassment or unlawful conduct has occurred
- Verification requests have been ignored
- Continued access may expose the platform or its members to harm
- Suspension or termination is required by law
Where appropriate, a member may contact support@sakinahconnect.com to request a review of an account decision.
Certain provisions, including those relating to intellectual property, liability, disputes and lawful record retention, may continue after account closure.
17. Service Availability and Changes
We aim to keep SakinahConnect available and secure, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation.
The service may be temporarily restricted because of:
- Maintenance or technical failure
- Security threats
- Hosting or internet disruptions
- Updates to features
- Legal or regulatory requirements
- Events beyond our reasonable control
We may add, modify or discontinue features. Where a change materially affects a paid service, we will provide reasonable information or remedies where required by law.
18. Disclaimer and Limitation of Liability
SakinahConnect provides a platform for members to find and communicate with potential spouses. Members remain responsible for their own decisions, investigations, meetings and relationships.
To the extent permitted by law, SakinahConnect is not responsible for:
- False or misleading information supplied by a member
- Conduct occurring outside the website
- Emotional distress, disappointment or relationship failure
- Money voluntarily sent to another member
- Unauthorised screenshots or unlawful copying by members
- Loss caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control
- Indirect or consequential loss arising from use of the service
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits responsibility where such exclusion is prohibited by applicable law.
19. Third-Party Services and Links
SakinahConnect may use or link to third-party services, including hosting, payment, email, security, video-call or analytics providers.
Their services may be governed by separate terms and privacy policies. SakinahConnect is not responsible for independent third-party websites or activities outside its reasonable control.
20. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms when our services, safety practices or legal obligations change.
The revised Terms will be posted with a new “Last Updated” date. Where changes are significant, we may notify members through the website or email and may require members to accept the revised Terms before continuing to use the service.
Continued use after the effective date of revised Terms constitutes acceptance where permitted by law.
21. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
These Terms are governed by the laws of the United Republic of Tanzania.
If a dispute arises, you should first contact support@sakinahconnect.com and allow a reasonable opportunity for the matter to be resolved amicably.
If an amicable resolution cannot be reached, the dispute may be submitted to a competent court or authority in Tanzania, subject to any rights available under applicable law.
22. General Provisions
If any provision of these Terms is found unlawful or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue to apply.
Failure by SakinahConnect to enforce a provision immediately does not amount to a permanent waiver of that provision.
You may not transfer your account or rights under these Terms to another person. SakinahConnect may transfer the operation of the service as part of a lawful business reorganisation, provided members’ rights and personal data remain appropriately protected.
These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and any additional terms shown before purchasing a service, form the agreement between you and SakinahConnect.
